Women who adhere to a high-protein diet appear to have higher rates of success with in vitro fertilization than their carbo-loading sisters, according to a release from the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists. In a study of 120 patients, Dr. Jeffrey Russell, of Newark, Delaware, found that patients whose daily protein intake accounted for more than a quarter of their diet, and who kept their carbohydrates to 40 percent or less of their daily intake, had four times the pregnancy rates of other patients. You may now officially write off bagels as birth control supplements.
