The 22 Pieces That Lure Street-Style Photographers

For all of the talk about how street style has become a circus that inspires hate-watching, if the latest couture season was any indication, everyone is still dressing up. And they should, because it would be terribly boring not to see people in weird hats, colorful shoes, and amazing bags. To earn your place among the likes of Anna Dello Russo, Taylor Tomasi-Hill, and Miroslava Duma, who have access to clothes before they hit the runway, it’s all about strategic purchases. Brands like Ostwald Helgason and Sophia Webster are known for their allure to photographers. Highly recognizable items — anything with Kenzo’s eye print or 3.1 Phillip Lim’s embellished Sono Mama is also a guaranteed lure — add instant designer cred. And it’s not just expensive clothes that serve as bait; a great pair of reflective sunglasses by Les Specs or a quirky hat by Bernstock Speirs are just as appealing. Click ahead to see all of these and more before placing your bets on just how often you’ll be spotting these pieces in the weeks ahead.

Wear a Quirky Hat  Susie Bubble has documented her love of British brand Bernstock Speirs extensively, so don't be surprised when you spot her in one of their trademark quirky hats, like this veiled beanie or the bunny-eared baseball cap. Otherwise, expect to see emerging brand Ale et Ange as a refreshing alternative to all of the ubiquitous Supreme caps.

Fake Casual Luxury With a Fancy Sweatshirt Already spotted on Miroslava Duma, Ostwald Helgason's Baudelaire sweatshirt is likely to make a repeat appearance. It's also a near-guarantee that this 3.1 Phillip Lim embellished jumper will be a front-row fixture at his show. But even a colorful version like MSGM's version is enough to turn heads.

If All Fails, Fall Back to Simplicity When all of the deliberate pattern mismatching gets too exhausting, a sleek metallic pencil skirt that hits just below the knee can serve as a palate cleanser. Tuck in a white shirt to show that your new look is all about minimalism.
