In an interview with Dazed and Confused, the young designer promised to channel more of himself into the upcoming Balenciaga collections. He also shed a little light onto his even-younger years. “I started sketching shoes and doing fashion illustrations around six or seven years old, though I hardly remember,” he explained. “That led to me picking up on fashion magazines. I was self-taught in the sense that no one handed it to me: I discovered it all on my own.” Though baby Wang stumbled upon fashion on his own, it now appears that an early taste for fashion runs in the Wang blood.
