Actor and director Ben Affleck paid Lindsay Lohan a secret visit while she was in rehab, as a show of support. It’s not so secret anymore. “We’re told Ben talked to Lindsay about her career — on how talented she is and how she has the ability to turn things around,” TMZ reports. Affleck checked himself into rehab after a hard-partying stint from 1999 to 2001. “Ben also told her how supportive the entertainment community is for people who make a real effort to get better and stay clean.” It works if you work it, as they say. (Which step is the one in which you sell your rare, influential supporter out to TMZ for a positive gossip item, again?) Sources were quick and eager to correct a Radar report that Affleck was also there to offer Lohan a role in his upcoming film Live By Night. Check out this walk-back, from a “source close to the movie,” in Us: “It’s not true. First off, no one has been cast. Lohan will not be cast in any role in the movie. She is not being considered for any role in the movie. She won’t be in the movie.”
