Which new trends will walk down the runways next week? The suspense must be killing you. Each season, the Cut gathers our “One Word, One Shot” sneak peeks from upcoming collections to tide us all over until New York Fashion Week gets under way. Judging by the array of ocean-getaway imagery from Venice Beach (J.Crew) to Venice, Italy (Altuzarra), it seems New York designers spent plenty of time beach-bumming this summer, or at least daydreaming of the ocean. Although the color blue shows up in inspiration pics sent by Tory Burch and Rachel Zoe, earth tones aren’t going anywhere yet. Band of Outsiders, Derek Lam, and Diane Von Furstenburg all submitted winding desert roads and lush mountains. We’re also expecting to get all caught up in woven pieces next spring, as knotted textures were pulled from everything from beach-chair stitching to soccer nets. Check out the ultimate teasers in the slideshow below, including sketches (Thom Browne, Suno), photos (Rodarte, Jason Wu), full looks (Hood by Air, Public School), plus much, much more. Enjoy!
