This week, designers mined the seventies when it came to creating runway hair. Caught somewhere between the stick-straight, natural hair of the sixties and the big blowouts of the eighties, the versatility of the decade is something we can get behind. At Jenny Packham, the hair was a disco take on romantic Edwardian curls: big, soft, and feminine. At Reem Acra, they went for full-on Donna Summer hair. The unlikely beauty inspiration for the hair at Proenza Schouler was the skateboarding crew featured in the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys. Fekkai lead stylist Paul Hanlon went for the simple, long, straight, center-parted hair most commonly found on teenage boys who spend their time riding big waves and half pipes in Venice Beach.
