Video: Iman, Naomi Campbell, and Bethann Hardison Talk Racism on the Runways

As previously discussed, Bethann Hardison has mounted a campaign for increased diversity in runway shows by sending written complaints this week to the CFDA and other governing bodies of international fashion. Her letters named individual labels whose recent catwalks showed an egregious lack of non-white models, including Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. Today, Hardison — a former model and internationally renowned casting agent — talked to Good Morning America with supermodels Iman and Naomi Campbell, where they cleared up a few things about their newly formed Diversity Coalition. Namely, they’re not calling anyone the R word, exactly: “Nobody is calling these designers racist,” says Iman, “but the act itself is racism.” Watch the video here.
