If you find yourself meandering about the Meatpacking District over the weekend in the midst of running to shows, and you suddenly find yourself in a mob of naked mannequins stationed at 14th Street and Hudson, don’t be too alarmed. This is not your typical Fashion Week–themed art installation. The mannequins have been assembled to rally against poser “mystery fabrics” (that try to pass as cotton). If these mannequins possessed voices, they’d loudly be chanting their mantra: “Cotton or Nothing!” Apparently, you can be the voice of the mannequins this weekend by standing alongside them (you might even appear in a stop-motion film).
