In this second installment of Outfit Agenda, we begin with a look that combines downtown edge with a relaxed, fun fit and tailored polish — the perfect look for a day spent bouncing around the Lower East Side’s contemporary art scene. Start at Lehmann Maupin and work your way to Uffner, Cooley, Beauchene, and Fuentes galleries before moving on to dinner and drinks later in the evening.

For a very special evening, one underscored by the Tennessee Williams masterpiece The Glass Menagerie, wear something just as classic, like Valentino’s  wool and silk embroidered tulle dress and patent leather heels, along with Miu Miu’s bright and bold jacquard stripes. Enjoy drinks at The Lambs Club to top off a memorable evening in an unforgettable look.

Getting to Know You Next, stroll over to Nolita for dinner at Estela (47 East Houston Street, estelanyc.com, 212-219- 7693), a gallery-like showcase for the culinary musings of chef Ignacio Mattos and Thomas Carter. Share a bottle of wine while you sample an opus of shared plates, like their notable razor clams chased with a splash of rosé before testing your playlist compatibility with an indie concert downtown or a DJ set out in Brooklyn. Save the date for the Flaming Lips at Terminal 5 on October 2 (610 West 56th Street, terminal5nyc.com) or John Legend at the Beacon Theatre on October 28 and 29 (2124 Broadway, beacontheatre.com). Learning to Love You Afterwards, step back in time at The Lambs Club (132 West 44th Street, thelambsclub.com, 212-997-5262) situated in the tony Chatwal Hotel. Taking its name from the venerable actors’ club it once housed, the Empire Deco interior is lined by portraits of the old guard, from W. C. Fields to Ronald Reagan. Lose track of the hours over a lemon-meringue tart and meticulously crafted cocktails, like a Hay Fizz, made with anachronistic flourishes, like hand-cut ice and fresh-pressed juice.
