I’ve been spending the last month battling knee problems, so flat shoes have become my best friend. But while menswear-inspired oxfords and pretty flats are great, the reality is that sneakers offer the best support — so I’m trying to slowly expand my collection. Because I’m a high-heel addict, the process of rewiring my brain to appreciate the nuances of kicks has been long. Tracking down the perfect pair that feels as glamorous, sophisticated, and fun as any of my pumps was a challenge until I came across these gleaming metallic shoes by Nike. Sadly I was too late to grab the gold version on the site, as they sold out quickly, but the silver pair is equally as great and feels like the more subtle option when worn with tights and skirts. Will I convert to only wearing sneakers? Probably not, but at least I’ll be doing my knees and sense of vanity a favor when I wear these day in and day out during the surgery-healing process.
