Rielle Hunter Reissues Memoir to Show Newfound Regret

Rielle Hunter is sorry. “Very sorry,” for her “wrong and selfish behavior.” To be specific: starting an affair with 2008 Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards and thereby “hurting” his dying wife, Elizabeth, Elizabeth’s children, the people who donated to Edwards’s campaign and “people who are married and believe in marriage.” In a Huffington Post blog post, Hunter says she now realizes that writing a book, the best-selling What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me, didn’t help matters. So today she reissued the memoir as an e-book: In Hindsight, What Really Happened: The Revised Edition: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me. It has been annotated to include all of her “regrets and mistakes.” I’m still waiting for my apology from GQ for that photo of Hunter with a large plush Dora the Explorer.
