In a brief e-mail sent to colleagues today, Taylor Tomasi Hill announced her departure from online luxury retailer Moda Operandi, where she served as creative director. Street style star Hill joined the company in 2011 after serving as the style and accessories director of Marie Claire and creative consultant at Sigerson Morrison. She wrote: “After two years with M’O the time has come to move forward with the next chapter. This Friday is my last day with M’oda …”

Moda Operandi, founded by former Vogue editor Lauren Santo Domingo and Gilt Groupe alum Áslaug Magnúsdóttir, has been growing rapidly. The start-up received $36 million in venture captital funding its first year, and has been experimenting recently with new digital initiatives, such as the charming video series “The One That Got Away.” It’s an interesting time to walk away from the relatively new, blossoming company. No word yet as to where Hill is headed, but we will update when she responds to our request for comment.
