
What could make Prada, mustachioed race car drivers, and spaghetti even more Italian? Taking all of those things and running them through Wes Anderson’s retro-sophisticate whimsy-cam. For its latest Prada Classics short film, Castello Cavalcanti, the Italian house commissioned the auteur to transport us to a trippy, neon-colored, high-fashion version of a classic small town in Italy. The eight-minute short, which is set in 1955 and stars Jason Schwartzman as a frazzled race car driver who crashes into the action (and a statue of Jesus), debuts today on Prada’s website.
