Hilary Rhoda is engaged to former NHL player Sean Avery, People reports. Aside from his hockey career, which ended in 2012, Avery is known best for his brief but highly publicized Vogue internship in 2008. He was also a partner at the now-defunct ad agency Lipman, which closed suddenly in September owing to its overwhelming debts. Rhoda is a successful model with an Estée Lauder contract and several Sports Illustrated issues under her belt.
People adds:
“[We] are very happy to announce our engagement,” the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“We are excited to plan the most beautiful and fun wedding that we could ever imagine,” they also said.
Avery and Rhoda began dating in 2010 and were reportedly on and off before becoming more serious about their romance in the spring of 2013.
The pair are planning to wed sometime next year and are “thinking of Jamaica,” according to a source.
But the real question is, will Vogue cover the wedding?
