Over the weekend, posh British model Poppy Delevingne posed for an Instgram picture while wearing a T-shirt that read, “This selfie is selfless.” Why the sudden broadcast of such a profound, philosophically provoking message, you ask? Well, it’s for charity. Delevingne is working with Action Aid U.K. to promote the sale of the T-shirts, the proceeds of which go to help aid victims of Typhoon Haiyan, the storm that devastated the Philippines.
Unlike her sister, Cara, who mostly uses selfies to promote her eyebrows, tattoos, and love of McDonalds, the elder Delevingne is harnessing her photogenic visage for the greater good. She’s the very picture of humble benevolence: promoting her own altruistic side while posing gloriously on a balcony with a stunning view of a snow-dusted Paris. “She’s turning the gross selfie into a selfless gesture for charity,” a source said to the New York Post.
