Underwear Company to Men: Get on Women’s Level

Today in feminist marketing, high-end boxer-brief company Tommy John urges men to step up their undies game, highlighting the sexist lingerie double standard. Why is it, the company asks, that women are expected to wear baroque contraptions made from non-breathable fabrics while men get away with ragged cotton diapers? Of course, Tommy John wants men to share the pressure women feel to spend hundreds of dollars on clothes no one (who wasn’t already going to sleep with them) will see, as opposed to women joining men in shlubby equality. But I will take this — men subject to women’s beauty standards — over another lame “real beauty” campaign any day.
