The Most Interesting Couture Shoes! Chanel, Dior, Gaultier, and More
This week, in Paris, dainty floral and metallic pumps were all over the runway in true couture fashion — but much more unexpectedly, sneakers were just as popular. At Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld put models in trainers made from python skin and veiled with lace, tweed, and pearls (each pair reportedly took approximately 30 hours to make), while Raf Simons at Dior opted for jewel-encrusted pool slides. Alexandre Vauthier and Jean-Paul Gaultier gave high heels a casual look with laces, and On Oura Tout Vu used combat boots decked out in silver glitter.
