Fresh on the heels of yesterday’s Oscar nominations, stars gathered in Santa Monica for the nineteenth Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. On the red carpet, gowns were a sea of gray scale, with the noted exceptions of Amy Adams and Jessica Chastain, who both resembled Popsicles in buoyant pink and green ensembles. Lupita Nyong’o, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave, looked radiant as usual in a bright white Calvin Klein column dress featuring side cutouts and a bandeau top. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts arrived sunglass-clad and arm in arm, whispering in each other’s ears and giggling adorably. Margot Robbie posed with a seriously cocked hip in a lacy black jumpsuit, and Blue Is the Warmest Color star Adèle Exarchopolous furthered the red-carpet trend of wearing two-legged garments under gowns.
