Paris Men’s: Backstage at Rick Owens, Dior, and More
The fall men’s shows in Paris, which wrapped on Sunday, featured the usual mix of clothes that were inherently wearable and those far more boundary-pushing. Kris Van Assche sent suits of every variety down the runway at Dior Homme — from pinstripe to polka-dotted to denim because, as he told WWD, “there’s not just one type of man, there’s many”— while Rick Owens featured a typically hard-edged collection that explored issues of authority. Walter Van Beirendonck, on the other hand, sent a powerful message to Karl Lagerfeld with his STOP RACISM headdresses.
