Today our Fashion Week diarist, celebrity stylist June Ambrose, wore whimsical shades of purple inspired by Alice in Wonderland. “I’m on the move with my daughter today, I wanted to create a fun environment,” she says. On day three of Fashion Week, Ambrose and her 9-year-old street-style star in training, Summer, prove that mother-daughter ensembles do not have to include matching Laura Ashley prints. (Even though Summer loves mixing prints, just like Mom.)
Here is her day three look:
Coat: Alberta Ferretti. “I studied color theory, so I know exactly how things will photograph. I really like playing with warm jewel tones on my mocha-color skin.”
Hat: Eugenia Kim.
Sweater: Balenciaga.
Shirt: Zara.
Skirt: Marc Jacobs.
Shoes: Christian Louboutin. “I got these last year. I saw them and thought if you’re going to do a Mary Jane, why not a python pair? And why not a polka-dot python pair?
Clutch: Pollini.
On Summer: Dress, Moschino; Coat, Stella McCartney. “My coat was so powerful that I balanced her next to me in her gray Stella McCartney coat; she’s like a neutral sidebar to my look.”
