Last week, Photo District News (PDN) released its annual issue of emerging photographers to watch — a list of 30 artists who have been working professionally for five years or less. Among this year’s selections are nine up-and-coming fashion photographers, including the Ukrainian photographer Dina Litovsky, whose work for the Cut has included everything from portraits of the Cavalli-wearing women of Brighton Beach to backstage scenes from Paris Fashion Week. Also featured is Billy Kidd, whose first exhibition this fall, Transience, juxtaposed decomposing flowers and lithe female torsos. The list also includes Brea Souders, Charlie Engman, Josh Wool, Ralph Smith, Marcus Smith, the husband-and-wife team We Are the Rhoads, and New York’s own Bobby Doherty.
