Best Bet: Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Earlier this week, I completely snafu’d my skin by falling asleep on a 17-hour flight without moisturizing, chugging water, or misting every two hours like a hothouse flower. Bad beauty editor. You can only imagine the face that greeted Immigration on Tuesday morning at 3 a.m. My undereye area was so crepe-y, it should have been spread with Nutella. One of the first things I reached for upon coming back was Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask, a cult Korean beauty product, which is now also sold at Target, among its new masstige skin-care offerings. Most sleeping masks are ultrarich, dense face creams, but Laneige’s is actually a cooling, supremely hydrating gel. When your skin is so parched that even face creams just sit on top of it, this mask is like the equivalent of an IV drip to your skin; it moisturizes and absorbs quickly before you even hit your REM cycle. No rinsing or water required. The mask is also formulated with a trademarked “Sleepscent,” which is a pleasant, innocuous, light floral scent.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, $23 at Target.com and Amazon.com.
