Mick Jagger appeared on the Today show this morning to talk about his latest passion project: a James Brown biopic, set to hit theaters this summer. Although the two were not “close friends,” Mick counts himself among James Brown’s early fans, and admitted that he used to “unashamedly borrow” dance moves from Brown. The Rolling Stones front man, who’s now 70, apparently acquired the rights to make the film, titled I Got You, following Brown’s death in 2006. The film will star Chadwick Boseman as Brown, and director Tate Taylor (who previously worked on The Help) says his goal is to have viewers “standing in front of their seat in the theater dancing,” which certainly sounds promising.
