Last night, Jennifer Lawrence brought her longtime on-again, off-again boyfriend Nick Hoult to the Oscars, where he helped J.Law laugh off her redundant red-carpet fall and apparently had an intimate moment with Bono. It wasn’t their first joint appearance this awards season: Hoult — Lawrence’s former X-Men co-star, who got his big break as 12-year-old Marcus Brewer in the 2002 Nick Hornby adaptation About a Boy — also accompanied J.Law to the Golden Globes this January, where the notoriously private couple, whispered, took selfies, and shared a celebratory kiss. The two started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of X-Men: First Class, and Lawrence famously described their relationship to Elle as eating Cheetos, watching beach volleyball, and talking about the women’s asses. They broke up in early 2013, citing “long distance,” and while some speculated about the Oscars curse, Hoult seems pretty supportive of his girlfriend’s successes. “She deserves it all,” he told the AP at Sundance earlier this year, adding that her rise to stardom had been “fun to watch.” This year Hoult will star in Equals — billed as a “romantic reimagining” of George Orwell’s 1984 — alongside Kristen Stewart, who will play a love interest.
