The less a single person wants to be in a committed relationship, the more likely he or she is to drink often, says a new analysis of 11 million users of the dating site PlentyOfFish. The correlation between sluttiness and partying was stronger in women than in men, but women who drink are not total commitment-phobes: Women with the shortest relationships (less than a year long) were less likely to drink often than women who’d had two- to six-year-long relationships. Another category of people who love to drink is people with PhDs. Female doctorates were more than twice as likely to drink often and male doctorates were 51 percent more likely to drink often.
