Donna Karan, Alexander Wang, Reed Krakoff, Jason Wu: This list may sound like a high-end department store’s inventory, but it’s actually a sampling  of a few of Parsons the New School for Design’s esteemed alums. Simon Collins, the dean of the college, explores the talents who have passed through the 108-year-old institution’s doors — which also include Narciso Rodriguez, Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, and Anna Sui — in The School of Fashion: 30 Parsons Designers, a new book out this month with Assouline. The book includes behind-the-scenes photos and sketches from the 30 designers featured. A portion of the proceeds will go toward a student scholarship fund; New York’s Milk Gallery is also hosting an exhibit of artwork from the book, which runs through April 19.
