Even Marc Jacobs Will Be Appropriately Dressed for the Met Gala

At last night’s Free Arts NYC Auction, Marc Jacobs said he will not be sporting a lacy dress or spotted pajamas at the Met Gala this time around. Instead, he plans to stick to the dress code — and wear the traditional tails that seem to be causing so much consternation among the Met’s menfolk. “I will be escorting the lovely and brilliant Jessica Lange,” who also happens to be the face of his beauty line, the designer told the Cut. “I think it will be black with white tie, as the dress code asks for … [I’ll be wearing] Saint Laurent.” When asked if he was excited for this year’s Charles James theme, Jacobs said bluntly, “I mean it’s not exciting as wearing a lace dress and boxer shorts, but that was only for Miuccia Prada. This is much more straightforward.”
