French schoolboys may soon be wearing skirts to class. Twenty-seven high schools in Nantes, in northwest France, have decreed that — as part of a student-led campaign unfortunately titled “Lift the Skirt” — male students are being encouraged to wear skirts to school this Friday. Those not ready to take that step also have the option of wearing a sticker that reads, “I am fighting against sexism, are you?” Meanwhile, over here in puritanical America, we’re having a conniption about men in thigh-baring shorts. Advantage: France.
