After Hermès announced its amicable-sounding parting with designer Christophe Lemaire on Monday, rumors swirled about which big-name talent might replace him. But if you believe WWD’s report, a much more under-the-radar figure may be stepping into his shoes. The paper says that Nadège Vanhee, The Row’s director of women’s design and formerly senior designer at Céline — she previously held positions at Maison Martin Margiela and Delvaux — is a “front runner” for the job. It will be interesting to see if the house opts for an industry veteran over making a splashy, high-profile appointment. We’ve reached out to Hermès for a comment and will update this when we hear back.
