People reports that Eileen Ford, who co-founded the Ford Modeling Agency, has died; she was 92. Ford was an industry pioneer who was behind the early careers of supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Jean Shrimpton, Lauren Hutton, and Brooke Shields. (Even the list of those she rejected is impressive; it includes Grace Kelly and Marisa Berenson.) The Long Island native and her husband, Jerry, co-founded the agency in 1946 and worked to ameliorate the working conditions of models. Her biography, Model Woman, is due out next year.
