How to Get Emma Watson’s Casual Evening Look

Fresh off the couture showsEmma Watson attended a private dinner for Dior last week in Paris wearing a navy, boxy top and a floral, high-waisted miniskirt from Dior’s recent cruise collection. She paired the look with blue suede heels from Roger Vivier, a minimal black Dior clutch, and chunky Anita Ko earrings.

Altogether, it was a pretty casual summer-evening ensemble — one that played nicely with proportion, as the boxy top, tucked like a T-shirt, offset the short skirt. We broke down her outfit piece by piece, locating easy-to-find (and some more affordable) options and including ideas about how to style them. A boxy top helps balance a fitted skirt. Watson chose a navy Dior version, but these five options will do the trick.

Larger-scale prints — as was the case of Watson’s floral skirt — appear bolder and less sweet than those with a dainty scale.

Her strappy blue Roger Vivier pumps (we also like a traditional suede pump) are a lighter shade of blue, adding a boost of color to the look.

A classic black clutch works well here. This look is more about the print and silhouette of the skirt and top, so no need to compete with a bag.

Try a chunky gold earring (if you have multiple earring holes, try two of the H&M pairs at once for a chunkier effect) to finish off the look for a fraction of the price.
