DIY guru Erica Domasek of P.S. — I Made This … is launching a new charitable project today. Domasek partnered with the brand Indego Africa on a series of patches made by artisans in Rwanda. (That’s her with some of the craftspeople in the photo above.) “The collaboration started from my sketches in New York and took me all the way to Kigali, Rwanda,” says Domasek. There, “I met the Ibaba women, who hand-embroidered each illustration into a patch. Together, we shared our passion for DIY.” The patches are available starting today on IndegoAfrica.org, retailing for $45 for a set of two, with the proceeds going to educational charities. If you’re craft-challenged, never fear: Domasek will provide suggestions for what to do with the patches on her site.
