Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart were an original Hollywood power couple, with a very chill sort of wedding. It was in a farmhouse in Ohio. She wore a pale skirt-suit and a leather belt. It was a three-minute ceremony! There were all sorts of dogs running amok! How wonderful were the days when famous pretty people didn’t seem to care about their weddings, and just cared lots about each other.
Anyway, this kinda dopey 1945 wedding video (from Paramount News, uncovered by the Knot) ends with the narrator declaring: “May all their scenes be love scenes!” That remains a fun thing to say at weddings or just generally to good couples.
