dying trends

Skinny Jeans Are Becoming an Endangered Species

Despite their decades-long stronghold in the consumer market, jeans — especially skinny jeans — might be facing their slow demise. Quartz reports that denim sales were down 6 percent last year, a trend that they suggest could be attributed to women’s embrace of athleisurewear. Some consumers are ditching uncomfortably binding denim in favor of comfort pants capable of being worn to both “yoga and work.” (What mystical unicorn pants are these? Could the desire for comfort be why all the harem pants went missing?)

This recent development is not to be taken lightly. Reports show that denim sales are also down in Canada, birthplace of the double-denim Canadian tuxedo. The end is nigh.
