musing on muses

The choice of Arizona Muse to front Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse fragrance was a no-brainer. There’s the hair (when I got a haircut, I told my stylist I wanted a Daria–Arizona Muse hybrid), the eyebrows, and, of course, the name. This fall, Estée Lauder gave Muse a chance to find her own muses, which are the subjects of a new set of short films that will be released later today on Estée Lauder’s The Estée Edit.

Although her name may not be as literal, Muse’s first choice, Paris Opera House ballerina Amandine Albisson, embodies the French-ballerina-muse-shaped hole you didn’t even know you had in your life. She has enviably poreless porcelain skin, skitters across the floor in a yellow tutu lighter than a macaron, and even rides a bicycle past the Eiffel Tower. Watch the teaser clip below to see why Muse chose her muse.
