Between Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda dance-class backstage at Alexander Wang and Miley Cyrus’s antics at the after-party, twerking has made a comeback this Fashion Week. So whom would showgoers want to teach them? Nicki seems to have the advantage. “I have never twerked in my life, so if I were to learn from anyone it would be from her,” Paris Hilton told us at yesterday’s Diane Von Furstenberg show. “I think she is definitely the queen twerker.” Fellow attendee Jess Weixler concurred, with some trepidation. “The problem is if you try to do what Nikki is doing — my body would never do that, because my behind is not quite as magnificent, ” she said. Any other twerk hurdles to overcome? “I suppose it would just be getting the hip flexors open. Just open up the hip flexors to just shake it.”
Meanwhile, over at the Versace Versus after-party, Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev told us she hadn’t yet seen the Wang video, but still would want Minaj for any one-on-one twerk tutorials. Bryan Boy, however, had watched it — and he had some safety concerns. “One of the models was so thin she couldn’t even carry her Balenciaga shoes,” he exclaimed. “I mean she couldn’t even lift her shoe!”
