It’s Worth $900 to See Lena Dunham’s Book Tour?

Here are a few things you can get for $900: this Rachel Comey coat for winter, a round-trip ticket from New York to Delhi, 240 cans of Surge, or a single ticket to Lena Dunham’s sold-out appearance at BAM on October 21.

Her book tour for Not That Kind of Girl — sort of a combination Q&A, concert, and episode of Girls — is a hot ticket this fall. So hot, in fact, that one dude on Craigslist thinks people are willing to drop $900 to see Dunham, Jemima Kirke, and Bleachers take the stage for one night. As Gawker points out, that’s a 2368 percent mark-up from the original $38 ticket price. (I mean, you do get a copy of the book, so that’s something?)

New Yorkers, if you’re determined to go and $900 seems just too ridiculous, keep in mind there is a perfectly logical and fiscally responsible solution you can take: Buy the $80 Craigslist ticket for the October 12 reading in Austin, book a JetBlue flight, and stay in an Airbnb for one night. You’ll save money.
