Spring 2015’s bags printed with illustrator Gary Baseman’s Furby-like creatures aren’t the only cartoon-inspired fare Coach has on hand. The label has a limited-edition collaboration out with Peanuts launching today at Colette, including a black bucket bag emblazoned with a Woodstock illustration and a black tote bearing a white-on-black image of Snoopy. Says Coach creative director Stuart Vevers, “Peanuts and Snoopy were a rite of passage for a generation and continue to be so emotive — there’s a particular image of joyful Snoopy that I’ve always loved and have in our studio that manages to capture so much feeling and emotion in a sketch.” Vevers added, “I was intrigued by the idea of taking that image and playfulness but subverting it,” with items like a minimalist Snoopy doll made in black leather. A wider array of merchandise will be on Coach.com on October 24 and in the brand’s stores November 1; in the meantime, you can see the full collection here.
