“Everything is temporary.” “God. or god?” “Life is short. Take more baths.” These are just some of the koans that have adorned André 3000’s custom jumpsuits on his Outkast reunion tour. Come next week, they’ll be exhibited during Art Basel Miami Beach, so you can puzzle over their meanings and feel very sophisticated about it.
XXL reports that the Savannah College of Art and Design is planning to run “i feel ya: SCAD + André 3000 Benjamin,” a free exhibit at the city’s Mana exhibition space, beginning December 3. All the jumpsuits (47 in total) will sit alongside an experimental film by Greg Brunkalla and paintings by Jimmy O’Neal. The exhibit will then be shown at the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah starting this summer. This is a perfect example of (to quote yet another André 3000 jumpsuit) thinking deeply about shallow shit.
