Last night, Diane von Furstenberg went on The Colbert Report to plug her memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, and her reality show, House of DVF. After a “bit” about getting Stephen Colbert to wear a wrap dress — “I would love to, but my hips are so unforgiving,” pleaded the host — the two talked gender roles. Colbert jokingly accused the designer of being sexist, since she doesn’t design for men. “Don’t we deserve to feel sexy and empowered as well?” he teased. He then asked von Furstenberg, “What makes a man sexy?” and she immediately replied “Viagra.” But perhaps the most surprising fact she revealed: Even her kids call her DVF.
