Not just for doing in chilly offices, wearing a blanket scarf can feel like a revelation of sorts if you've never tried it before. Wrap this around your neck to protect it on your way to work — and drape around your shoulders for an additional colorful layer once you get inside.
An alternative to the ubiquitous beanie, try this felted cap by Reiss.
If color isn't your thing, then consider Stella McCartney's huge playful grid of polka dots on this large scarf.
Knotted, twisted, or simply folded, this impressionistic blur is just the right pop of color to peek out from under your many layers.
When it gets really freezing, add an additional layer over your tights, especially if you're wearing tall boots.
Ears are important. Keep them from falling off with this pretty but chunky headband turban.
On days it's so cold that gloves just aren't an option, these mittens will keep your fingers the warmest.

With its odd bright-blue polka dots, this scarf is playful and warm but still extra soft.
This chunky knit hat, with its gauzy thick fibers, is just the thing to keep your head warm against any windchill.
Especially as winter days stretch well into March, you'll need something — like this polka-dot scarf — to keep the spirits up.

Maybe a vivid emerald green — a universally flattering color — is what you need to wear with all the navy and black in your wardrobe.
If somber dark colors aren't your thing, look no further than this colorful abstract scarf that can go with a colorful or even pastel coat this winter.
This is the perfect blue print to pop against your parka this winter.
A twist on a classic silk ascot, this is the sort of scarf you can wear indoors to instantly dress up a look.
This is the best basic beanie, with just enough droop for that model-off-duty look.
Soft, not too heavy, and warm, this is a good bet over a gray or camel coat.
Big, soft, and lightweight, this is the ideal scarf to throw on when you aren't quite sure how the weather will turn later in the day.
If you're going for full-on winter whites, consider this lightweight cashmere-blend scarf.
Surprisingly toasty, this felt take on a classic baseball cap is just the thing to keep you warm on cold but sunny days.
If bright or very dark colors aren't your style, go for blush.
