Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week might no longer be a phenomenon — at least not in New York. According to the Hollywood Reporter’s “Pret-a-Reporter” column, the car company, which has sponsored NYFW since 2009, is threatening to pull out. Per the report, event organizer IMG is in talks with other brands about taking over the sponsorship. The report comes just as IMG is mulling over a move downtown to a new venue. Hmmm … Stumptown Fashion Week, anyone?
