After surviving prolonged exposure to Juan Pablo, the worst Bachelor in history, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman was looking for forever-love, a man for all seasons, a lover to last a lifetime. For this eternal relationship, she selected a monosyllabic hunk from Atlanta, Josh Something-or-other, as the future Mr. Dorfman. Sadly, their love has ended after five months of realizing they don’t know each other well enough to get married, Us Weekly reports.

Here’s their joint statement:

“After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it’s best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what’s best for both of us individually. We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best.”

Fortunately, this doesn’t reflect poorly on the overall promise of the show, since the fine print on The Bachelor defines “forever” as a “flexible, period of time, not necessarily everlasting, eternal, or intended to last beyond six months. “
