Usually, black lipstick is scary. It recalls a Wednesday Addams–goth vibe and not in a good way. But when we saw the lipstick at the Giles show in London — a black-with-a-touch-of-burgundy — we were pleasantly surprised. It was downright pretty. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni paired the dark lip with perfectly matte skin and zero mascara or eyeliner. The lips were created using MAC Cosmetics Ebony Eye Pencil and MAC Cosmetics Lipmix in Black and Burgundy. Pieroni then topped off with a shiny gloss. Now that velvet is back, here’s to a lipstick that all goths can wear, no matter what type of goth they may be.
