It’s as if designers know we’re freezing our butts off: Several shows this week have featured shearling-lined outerwear that would be perfect for a day like today. At Coach, Stuart Vevers featured massive ivory-trimmed coats paired with matching shin-high hiking boots. The models looked so warm that you could almost understand why they could get away with bare legs. At Tibi, shearling featured prominently in a patchwork coat that added wonderful texture to a tonal ivory-on-ivory look. And, today at Public School, designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne used it on a giant bomber that came layered over a thick knit and slouchy black trousers. The result: The Cut editors all want to wear shearling right now.
