“Ready, Set Shop!” proclaims Net-a-Porter’s current homepage. And if a WWD item today is to be believed, Amazon is taking the etailer at its word. The paper claims that the two are in “ongoing talks” about Amazon buying Net-a-Porter Group, which, according to analysts, is valued between $1.31 billion and $1.64 billion.
Amazon has been focusing on building up its fashion offering for some time now, adding more and more luxury brands to its inventory, and even branching into fashion collaborations of late. The company is also sponsoring New York’s first men’s fashion week this July.
A Net-a-Porter spokesperson told us the company does not comment on industry speculation; we’ve also reached out to Amazon for comment and will update this when we hear back.
