Female CEO Says POTUS Is a Man’s Job

Cheryl Rios, the Dallas-based CEO of Go Ape Marketing, took to Facebook to express her belief that the only person fit for the presidency is a “a good, strong, honorable man.”

The full text of her Facebook post, which came in direct response to Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she will be running in the 2016 campaign, appears below:

“If this happens – I am moving to Canada. There is NO need for her as she is not the right person to run our country – but more importantly a female shouldn’t be president. Let the haters begin … but with the hormones we have there is no way we should be able to start a war. Yes I run my own business and I love it and I am great at it BUT that is not the same as being the President, that should be left to a man, a good, strong, honorable man.”

At least she’s cool with women in high positions of corporate power. That’s a start, however hypocritical.

In response to the media coverage she’s received since posting, Ms. Rios followed up on Twitter with a statement to her defense: “I am old fashioned. I am a Christian,” she said.

The bible was authored long before our relatively young country and its political system appeared, so it is unclear what Ms. Rios was referring to when she told Dallas CBS affiliate journalist Steve Pickett, “There’s an old biblical sound reasoning why a woman shouldn’t be President.”

But, in any case, let’s retire the “moving to Canada” threat along with the hormone excuse. Canada elected its first female prime minister over two decades ago.
