Neuroscientist Shaves Her Head So You Dolts Might Understand How Brains Work

MIT neuroscientist Nancy Kanwisher is so enthusiastic about teaching you how your own damn brain works that she shaved her head in order to do so, in a video she posted yesterday. Enlisting a grad student to draw all over her newly bald scalp, Kanwisher first points out the cortex, the brain’s outer surface, which we use to see, hear, move, and think. She also shows some functional regions, like one spot located in the backs of our heads, which responds most strongly to faces.

After the considerable effort Kanwisher put in, the least you can do is watch her short lesson in neuroanatomy.
