Watch Supermodels Strut in Galliano’s Fall 1994 Show

There’s a new theme every day on It’s Vintage. Read more articles on today’s topic: Galliano’s São Schlumberger show.

“This is a fragile poet,” declares André Leon Talley (wearing a fabulous pair of chain-link Chanel sunglasses) in this Videofashion clip of Galliano’s momentous fall 1994 show.  “An endangered species.” Patroness São Sclumberger dubs his vision, “Fantasy, but extremely well-cut fantasy.” And an unrecognizably shy, soft-spoken John Galliano gives a short interview, talking about his love of kimonos and the color pink.

Watch the défilé, starring a cloche-clad, cigarette-puffing Nadja Auermann, Carla Bruni in a magnificent Stephen Jones ribbon-shaped hat, Linda Evangelista waving a fan, and Kate Moss strutting in a micromini dress accessorized with an obi belt. (Seriously — if you’re not already watching after that description, what are you doing?)
