Laura Mercier’s new Paint Wash is a simple, easy lipstick that doesn’t require liner, careful maneuvering, or motor skills beyond those required for a coloring book. This idiot-proof but vibrantly hued lipstick comes in a tube with a practical doe-foot applicator that you can use to trace and fill in your lips, all with the ease of Microsoft Paint’s fill-in tool. Because the color payoff is very rich and decidedly not tepid (it also comes in flattering nude shades), only one quick coat and blot is required. It’s a long-lasting, weightless, put-it-on-and-forget-about-it lipstick. While it might be hyperbole to say it’s the “easiest lipstick in the world,” it’s the best option we have — at least until lipstick-applying robots are perfected.
